My son Cole was just 50 days old when he sadly lost his battle against meningitis. I took him to the doctors on the wednesday and was told he just had a bug that would pass within a couple of days, the following day he still wasn't right so I took him to the out of hours surgery and he was admitted to A&E on sight after 6 long days of fighting his brain had been totally devastated by the infection and I was told if he made it through the night they would remove his machines. The strong boy that he was he made it through and therefore his machines were taken away at 10am the next day and he finally went to sleep for the last time just under 7 hours later
